Chelsea woodland gardens

May 31st, 2019

Woodland gardens dominated the show at Chelsea although the peoples favourite was a Yorkshire garden along beside a canal gate.

Most designers created a physical feature to play their flower designs against.

Winner Andy Sturgeon created an amazing garden and won another gold.

He got an expert to scorch wood for a week so he could recreate a rock style outcrop he saw in Australia. Then he planted a lot of greenery around it.

Most clients I work for love colours and flowers and stone patios and lower maintenance styles. One idea which is reflected in design is the idea of gardens from childhood and the plants in them. A designer can organise and suggest new ideas but the space is the clients and should reflect their taste and favourite flowers.
